We are looking for a solid Software Engineer to join our expanding Core Platform team. The main responsibility will be designing, coding, and documenting scalable RESTful APIs using Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ on a Linux (Debian) platform. Part of the job will be close collaboration with other Development, QA, and Product Management teams in an Agile software development environment.





Qualifications

- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent inEngineering orComputer Science

- Generally requires 5-8 years related experience



- Solid software engineer with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

- Experience building RESTful APIs in Node.js

- Experience with relational databases and database design (preferably PostgreSQL)

We expect you to take ownership of some of our internal projects (we have dozens of git repositories at the moment). That means you should be doing the following:



  • watching trends and best practices in Node.js development

  • reading blogs and compiling ideas how to improve our backend systems

  • getting feedback about the system from our staff and making sure it's implemented

  • able to quickly implement new things requested by business / sales

  • able to work in a team with other Backend developers


On a more technical note, you need to know how to handle the entire software development life cycle, start to end. So you need to be familiar with the following areas:



  • Vanilla JavaScript

  • Node.js basis: event loop, non-blocking I/O, V8 memory management/optimization

  • Node.js frameworks: express / restify / koa /  anyone

  • Testing: should, mocha, cucumber

  • Data: MySQL, Redis, Mongodb, Redshift

  • DevOps: Jenkins, Docker

  • Platform as a service (Deis, Heroku)

  • Version control repositories (preferably git)

  • Frontend: Angular, React, jQuery, CSS3, HTML5 etc.


Working environment



  • You'll be working in our office in Bangkok, directly with all the other engineers and the tech co-founder. We have a beautiful office here full of snacks, sodas and beer.

  • You will be working with other Node.js Developers in a team of 5, hacking together tech solutions that will help to drive growth within the company.

  • Our working hours are typically 10am-8pm, but it's pretty flexible. Some of us start early morning (8am), some of us start later and work until midnight.

Communication
